Do you sometimes feel like someone is watching you from behind? It could happen at the bank or while you’re talking on the phone. Most of the time, you are right when you think someone is watching you. It’s not the eyes around you that should worry you. If you own a mobile phone, Google, Facebook, and the government know almost everything about you!
Either you know about all of this already or you are going to walk away feeling very uncomfortable and maybe a little trapped.
There are many things these entities are doing with your permission that you don’t know about.
These “services” have off switches, and you can take advantage of those if you read on.
They Know Your Location
Both Google and Facebook are very upfront about giving you the ability to tell the world where you are. Their services are linked to your GPS technology, and you agreed to that long before you started posting or doing anything else.
You can even get solid proof by clicking this link and looking at your own timeline. Google is very open about this information, but it’s still scary!
If your phone’s tracking is on, there’s no doubt that they know where you are. Most people know this, and some even try to stop it, but there are still millions who don’t, and Google keeps track of them all.
They Know What You REALLY Like
Google uses two ways to find out what you really like. You know, they want to know who you are when you pick up the phone. They want to know what you look for at night while the rest of the family is sleeping.
The first thing they do to learn more about you is save everything you do. Everything! Again, if you know where to look, they are very clear. This means that things you have searched for and then deleted are also recorded. Unless you have been very diligent and deleted things across devices.
If you want to, you can look at your Google activity profile HERE.
The other way is through your ad profile. While Google does not sell your personal information, they do create a virtual version of you based on a variety of characteristics and interests. They can’t sell your exact age, but they can say that you fit into a certain group of people or age range.
They use this ad profile to make money from ads. They can show you ads based on what you search for, what you like, where you go, and many other things. Basically, they know what makes you do something when you’re on your device, and they sell that information to advertising agencies. This is arguably much more powerful than your personal information.
You can opt-out of these targeted ads by clicking HERE.
They Can Watch You
Yeah. I know it sounds weird, but it’s real. You have given Facebook and Google permission to use your microphone and camera, as well as information about everything you do on your phone, everything you watch, what you like and where you go, and even your calendar.
Facebook and Google Stockpile Everything About You
Both services have ways for you to get all the information they have about you. I don’t know how you feel about that, but they do offer that as a service. It’s likely that, for one day, they will charge a lot of money. The scariest thing about this is how big the files you download are. You might need close to or even more than a gigabyte of space for all the information about you.
I’ve heard of people asking Google for this information and needing 5 GB of storage for the file. That’s a lot.
Big Brother Is Just As Bad
Everything has changed because of the cloud. Based on the information that doesn’t even live on your device, the US Government can figure out your whole daily schedule.
If we’re being honest, the government doesn’t have enough people or enough time to keep track of each of us. However, if they were to raise an eyebrow over something that you were doing or saying. They could focus on one person and take away many of the rights you think are yours by birth.
We have seen things like this happen right in front of us. We saw the government come out of its shell and attack with all its power. From putting pressure on tech companies to find ways to break into phones to getting rid of people from our society altogether.
It’s not that they are watching you right now, but you have to be honest with yourself and know that they can if they want to. Aside from the government’s own monitoring, they can also use Google and Facebook to get all the information they have stored.
Privacy is a dissolving feature of our society. You can’t get around that. If you don’t do something right from the start, you’ll be part of a state that keeps a close eye on everyone and can look at you whenever it wants.
What are you going to do, sue the Federal Government?
The State will skirt the constitution whenever it sees fit, and in this divisive day and age, there aren’t even swaths of the population to stand up for you. So, what should someone do? Well, it’s more of an excuse to be yourself and live freely.
If you like buying weapons and ammunition, everyone already knows about it. Just have fun with it! In any case, all of this has broken the prepper’s idea of OPSEC, which might be a good thing.
We can start getting the rest of the world ready for the coming high tides.
